I remain personally away from the area and Olympus compact cameras. I had two before, both very disappointed. Then I turn on the compact Canon (my family to stop actually using conventions) and I laugh, I wonder why not your first fool me. The cost me just over Olympus, but I felt like it was 2-3x best (at least for me it was * that * frustrated by the terms of Olympus) and never looked back. Just my experience personal. Never tried the cameras you mentioned before, but I guess that's more or less the same, even the critics say.
