Is it possible to connect a PS3 or Nintendo directly to a flat panel monitor.?
I have a 24 inch flat screen and only seems stupid to go out a buy a TV, since they do not watch TV! Ideas?
There are two things you need: 1) compliance with HDCP, 2) an HDMI or DVI with HDCP is the encryption protocol invented by the film industry for more than their money by pay extra for the ability to decrypt the message. It should, in my opinion, be outlawed, but it is not. Any HD signal (720p or more) to be decrypted before it can be seen. All video outputs on a cable HDMI with HDCP encryption. This is not the case with component cables. Some monitors are HD-Ready, others not. For a monitor of 24 ", chances are pretty good it is.
